Riverside Inverclyde To Host International Event As Part Of Scottish International Week 2018
Riverside Inverclyde is to host an event as part of Scottish International Week 2018 (SIW18).
SIW18 will take place throughout the world from the 17th to the 21st of September 2018, with 50 events held across 12 Locations and delivered by over 60 International Speakers.
SIW18's goal is to support Scottish based companies scale across the UK and internationally, through the delivery of peer lead events and is being delivered by The Scottish Business Network, whose co-founder Russell Dalgleish held an event earlier this year in Inverclyde.
Greenock will join the likes of Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Manila, New York, San Diego, San Francisco and Singapore.
The event will focus on how Scottish businesses can win in London and internationally and will be chaired by Andrew Bowman, Head of Business Investment at Riverside Inverclyde and have two speakers followed by a panel Question and Answer.
The first speaker will be Steven Ross, UK Innovation Director at Lee Hecht Harrison Penna who will provide an insight intohis career to date with senior roles in the recruitment, human resources, and consulting sector over the past 15 years.
Steven has a track record of successful digital innovation projects that have a positive impact on market reputation, customer experience, operational performance and the Profit and Loss of businesses and will be able to share his expertise with attendees.
Tom Marchbanks, a specialist business advisor in international markets will complete the line-up. Tom hasexceptional trade and investment experience having managed teams for the UK governments trade development body UKT&I (now Department of International Trade) providing a wide range of support for internationalising companies, both in India and then China.
Tom’s previous appointment was Regional Manager of Scottish Development International’s Middle East office based in Dubai, where he led his team in advising Scottish companies on their market access and penetration strategies and Middle Eastern clients on investment opportunities in Scotland.

This is a free event for businesses to attend and will take place on Thursday 20th September 2018 at the iconic Georgian architectural masterpiece Custom House in Greenock.
The event opens at 16:00 for a 16:15 start and will close at 18:00pm. Spaces are limited to 60 and free parking is available around the building for attendees. Refreshments will also be available for attendees.
