Launch Of A New Guide To Promote The Best Places To Eat And Drink In Inverclyde

A mouthwatering magazine to promote the best places to eat and drink in Inverclyde has all the right ingredients.

The new food and drink guide, launched by Taste Inverclyde and the Greenock Telegraph, showcases the outstanding cafes, bars and restaurants that the area has to offer.

As well as interviews with local food and drinks experts and handy culinary hints and tips, it features a listings section and maps to help every reader find something that tantalises their tastebuds.

Andrew Bowman, head of business investment at Riverside Inverclyde, says the magazine is perfect for both local people and tourists.

He said:

“I think we take our food and drink very seriously in Inverclyde and it is beginning to show. To have so many cafes and restaurants supporting this is fantastic.

“It shows that you don’t need to go to Glasgow, there are some great restaurants and cafes in Inverclyde."

Mr Bowman said it is essential to promote local manufacturers who are an integral part of the food and drink industry.

He added:

“The manufacturers are so important, as the aim of Taste Inverclyde is to try and ensure more local produce is created here and then sold in the local outlets and restaurants and cafes, leading to job creation for locals.”

Inside the 48-page guide, there is information on eateries, bars, cafes and retail outlets – from independents to well-known chains – all offering a truly unique experience.

Greenock Telegraph sales manager, Jolene McGhee, added:

“It’s great to work in partnership with Riverside Inverclyde. We both established a gap in the market.

“This guide showcases all the food and drink as well as the producers in the Inverclyde area to a wider audience and have seen great engagement from the businesses for the second year running.”

The guide was launched at Fenwick 47 in West Blackhall Street with some of the local businesses involved including the hosts, Jax SnaxCafe Mor, Ingliston Country Club, Nicolson’s Bar & KitchenWest End Bar and Kitchen and New Dawn Coffee Shop.

The guide is available to pick up FREE from the Greenock Telegraph office and all of the establishments involved.
