Greenock Heritage Project Attracts £200,000 Funding

Inverclyde Council has been awarded £200,000 for a major two-year heritage project. The money is coming from the Heritage Lottery Fund to deliver Stories Frae The Street as part of the nationwide Great Place Scheme.

Entries Sought For Inverclyde Business Awards

Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce is inviting entries for its annual Bee's Knees business awards. The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 8 June 2018 in the Marquee at the Chartroom, Kip Marina.

Clyde Ferry Contract Approved

Transport authorities have approved Clyde Marine of Greenock as the new operator of the Kilcreggan to Gourock ferry. Strathclyde Partnership for Transport's (SPT) operations committee also agreed that the current fare structure would be reviewed to lessen the public subsidy supporting the service.

SGF Study Tour Finds Inverclyde Is Open For Business

Each year, the Scottish Grocers Federation (SGF) visit different areas across Scotland to highlight the investment opportunities for its members. Working alongside hosts Riverside Inverclyde (ri), the 2017 SGF Study Tour visited Inverclyde in September 2017 for an education on the recent regeneration of the area and the opportunities for local retailers.

High-Tech Practice Facility Launched At Gourock Golf Club

A state-of-the-art development studio has been officially opened at Gourock Golf Club. An invited audience of 50 people were in attendance to see Councillor Ronnie Ahlfeld cut the ceremonial ribbon. The £189,000 indoor practice facility is the first of its kind within the West of Scotland.

Popular Gourock Restaurant To Close Next Month

Diners have been left shocked by a decision to close a popular Gourock restaurant. Bosses of Bath Street Arches in the town centre have announced that they will close the highly-rated fine dining premises on February 24 after five years.

Amazon Gourock Holds Staff Dance

Amazon's team in Gourock was treated to a glamorous party to celebrate 2017. Hundreds of team members from the site in Faulds Park gathered at Greenock Town Hall for a Strictly Come Dancing Winter Wonderland themed party, complete with a DJ, live band and lots of dancing.
