McGill's Extending Greenock Head Office Amid Changes To Two Renfrewshire Depots

The bus company is shutting its Inchinnan head office operations, with 11 staff being transferred to its Larkfield Industrial Estate building. It's remaining 165 employees at the Renfrewshire depot will continue as normal with no job losses.

Permission Given For Ship Dismantling Work At Greenock Dock

Dales Marine has been given the go-ahead to use its dry dock at Garvel, Greenock for breaking up ships and dismantling vessels at the site.

New Coastal 'Urban Village' At Inverkip Could Have Up To 650 Houses

Land owners Scottish Power want to build a new coastal urban village on the land between Inverkip and Wemyss Bay with possible sites for a hotel, a pub/restaurant and leisure and retail developments.

The Wage Subsidy Programme is available to local small to medium sized employers and will pay 50% of the actual hourly rate, to a maximum of £5,000 or 52 weeks.

Demolition Of St Stephen's School Moving At Pace

Demolition work began at the end of last year and is due to be completed by the end of February. Housing association, River Clyde Homes has bought the land from Inverclyde Council and wants to build a total of 224 properties.

Peel Ports To Be Quizzed About Plans For Greenock Dry Dock

Transport secretary, Michael Matheson, is set for showdown talks with Peel chief executive, Mark Whitworth, next month to find out the company's plans for the area, including for the historic Greenock dry dock.

Plans For New Community Welfare Centre Have Been Approved

Inverclyde Council's planning department has given the green light for Prime Hardware, also known as Discount World, on Laird Street to be converted into a 'non-residential institution' for use as a 'social meeting and teaching place with English classes being offered'.

First Phase Of Gourock Church Refurbishment Is Complete

Scott Gage Construction Services Limited carried out the work and now those using the church can benefit from the lift at the entrance, a wheelchair-friendly kitchen and toilet and a refurbished foyer and redecorated hall.
