Children in Poverty Inverclyde organises breaks for 600 youngsters and their parents and thanks to the generosity of more than 50 groups, organisations and individual donors, another 200 children will get the same opportunity this summer.

Council Agrees To Spend £130,000 To Host Sailing Event

Officials had asked a Council committee to approve the outlay in a bid to secure a Clipper ‘stopover’ as part of a round the world race. A fund of £135k will be set aside to support negotiations to host here with Events Outland.

The iconic social club in the west end of Greenock was formed in 1947 but the building pre-dates that, and time and lack of maintenance has taken its toll with £60,000 needed to bring the club up to date.
