A digital networking event at the newly-refurbished Custom House hosted by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and regeneration company Riverside Inverclyde in September was a further success, attended by more than 35 businesses from Inverclyde and beyond. The event built on an initial co-hosted FSB event in July which over 60 companies attended.
The theme of the event was “All Things Digital” and the event offered businesses the opportunity to join FSB Connect Networking and effectively develop and grow their business through their national network of events.
Experts on the night on digital subjects included:
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) changes by Aidan Duffy at Softwork
- IT and data security by David Reid at Villamill Digital
- Virtual Assistance by Jennifer Khare at Smart PA
The event also showcased the Greenock building which has been transformed into high-quality business units after a five-year, £5.2million renovation project by Riverside Inverclyde.
The A-listed historic building in the heart of Greenock, already the home of local and international businesses, is searching for a new tenant for its flagship 4,000 sq ft Long Room.
Andrew Bowman, Head of Business Investment and Operations at Riverside Inverclyde, said:
“Thank you to all of the businesses from Inverclyde and beyond that attended this digital event. There were a large number of learnings for all businesses to work through in the coming weeks. The evening again clearly demonstates the desire and interest in Inverclyde as an area to do business and for quality networking opportunities. We look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with the FSB and supporting both local and national businesses looking to set up in Inverclyde and Scotland."
Fiona Quinn, FSB’s Operational Support Co-ordinator said:
“I am grateful to everyone involved and those who attended our event. It was great to see so many businesses coming along. A lot of people expressed their interest in future events like this, so we plan to host another business event in Inverclyde before the end of 2017.”
