Inverclyde Council has applied for planning permission to extend Gourock Primary School. The £1.7million project includes a dining hall and kitchen, with a new entrance to the building.

Councilors To Rule On Whether Starbucks And Domino's Rejections Should Be Reversed

Inverclyde councillors are to decide whether refusals for Starbucks and Domino's Pizza developments in Greenock should be overturned. The two separate proposals were rejected by planning officials but appeals have been lodged which Inverclyde's Local Review Body is due to consider this Wednesday.

Easdale Family Snap Up Two Prime Pieces Of Land

Greenock businessmen Sandy and James Easdale have snapped up two prime pieces of land for nearly £160,000. Hot on the heels of their £3.1 million acquisition of Cappielow Trade Park, the McGill's Buses owners have now bought two plots in Cartsburn Street, just off the A8 main road.

A new £9 million Inverclyde school has come under the microscope - from a group of eagle-eyed pupils. Boys and girls from St Ninian's Primary in Gourock made a short trip next door to where their replacement daytime home is being built.

Belville Community Garden has the green light to keep on growing - thanks to a grant of almost £100,000. The eco-friendly project has won the backing of the Big Lottery with a £90,000 grant to keep up their good work.

Children have been enjoying extra fun in the sun thanks to a new £70,000 Inverclyde Council play area. The project sits next to the new £1.8million Council-funded Inverkip Community Centre boasting a multi-purpose community hall, library and meeting room.

Terraced Housing Approved For Upper Port Glasgow

Housing association River Clyde Homes have been given permission to build seven terraced houses in Slaemuir, Port Glasgow. The two-bedroom properties will front Campsie Road and will be built in place of a five-storey block of flats and on ground beside it.

Greenock Restaurant Expansion Under Way

Work to expand a popular town centre restaurant is under way. Owners of The Exchange were given the green light to go ahead with their plans for the premises after making an appealove. The expansion is expected to create create more than 20 new jobs.
